Adult Safeguarding ad Care Management


As part the Council's commitment to older residents in the Borough, we aim to ensure that all our customers over 65 years old are able to:

  • Enjoy living in good, safe neighbourhoods and are able to get out and about.
  • Access high quality care and support services when necessary.

Care and Support Planning

Camden is committed to working with adults during the care and support planning process to coproduce the plan to meet their individual outcomes. Work is ongoing to embed the cultural change required to work in this way. ASC has signed up to the Making It Real national programme developed by Think Local Act Personal which aims to give people for choice and control to live full independent lives, committing to a coproduction approach to the delivery and development of services

Social workers in Camden will vary in their knowledge and experience depending on their career stage. As part of its equalities and diversity commitment, Camden aims to ensure that as far as is possible, the culture and ethnicity of the social workers employed by the borough matches that of the community they serve.

Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)

The Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) is designed to help newly qualified social workers (NQSW) to develop their skills, knowledge and capability and strengthen their professional confidence.

With the support of their managers, NQSW will need to show that they have met the capabilities statements at ASYE level. Evidence will be built up and reviewed over the year to show sufficient achievement in a range of essential skills, knowledge and values that cover the whole of the PCF and ASYE level. Camden has an excellent track record of retaining NQSW and is committed to ensuring that newly-qualified social workers joining the council are able to develop their skills within a safe practice environment.
